The Gunners are one step closer to winning the FA Cup for a third year running, and reaching the final for a fourth consecutive year. They whomped Portsmouth by a score of 5 to 1. Henry and Ljungberg both scored two goals and Reyes managed to put on a great display. I saw a bit of the game during my lunch hour spent eating a steak at Boston Pizza.
At that point it was still early doors, and I saw the first Arsenal goal, but it was pretty close going then. I missed the floodgates opening before they turned up the skill and just owned the game.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp hailed Arsenal as 'the best in Europe... possibly the best in the world' after the Gunners shot down his hapless side.
'We gave away some sloppy goals but they are outstanding. There is a gulf in class.
'They have got everything - pace, power. Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are a different level and maybe Arsenal are even higher than that.
'I can't see anybody in the Champions League beating them, let alone the Premier League. I can appreciate great players and it was good to see our fans cheering people like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. Football must not be all about hate.
