Doing the pub: bookish edition

The Library Pub

Nathan picked me up after work on Monday and we decided to go find some food. Pub food. After a bit of thought I was going to direct him to the Dover Arms on Denman, but decided that eating quickly was in order so we found some parking close by the Vancouver Library and went to the Library Pub.

I'd been there before for a Metroblogging Vancouver [mbv] meet-up, and had enjoyed it, so I figured we could give it a try. I had a very nice pint of Granville Island Pale Ale and we shared two for one appetizers (yam fries and chicken wings). The Cancuks game was on the television, but the focal point of the evening for the other patrons seemed to be an NFL game against the New York Giants and some other team.

There was even a football throwing contest during half-time.

The yam fries were amazingly good. I'd recommend them to anyone, even a vegitablearian. After the food we headed back to my apartment for Lego Star Wars on the Xbox 360.
